ETL Systems to demonstrate Griffin Redundancy Switch and VSAT Fibre System at Satellite 2018

ETL Systems has announced that it will be demonstrating its new Griffin Switch for RF and ASI signal redundancy and the StingRay VSAT Fibre link system at Satellite 2018 in Washington.

Its Griffin Redundancy Switch can be used for both uplink and downlink applications, and can handle RF and ASI signal types. It offers three switch module types which can be mixed and matched to ensure flexibility among different applications. The ASI module, which caters for ASI/SD, SDI/HD and SDI/3G-SDI is especially applicable for video streaming.

The Griffin series provides signal redundancy for satellite modulators, downconverters, or modems, and enables the switching to a standby path when an error occurs. Hot-swap switch modules reinforce minimal impact from failure.

Connectivity between a VSAT antenna and a remote control room is provided by ETL System’s VSAT Fibre system. It drastically reduces signal loss and delivers a high quality feed, delivering connections for links up to 10 kilometres apart without the need for additional amplification. Dual redundant power supplies ensure resilience and continual performance, whilst ruggedized Neutrik cables and an IP65 rated weatherproof housing for the outdoor unit allows it to withstand the harshest physical environments.

“We have witnessed the surmounting pressures on satellite providers to deliver more accurate services and continual feeds. Having reliable and efficient equipment that can deliver signals and minimise errors in workflow is vital to compete in the satellite industry.” Commented Andrew Bond, Sales Director, ETL Systems.
