Crystal Solutions Demonstrates Its Innovative Monitor and Control Software at Satellite 2012

Crystal Solutions will highlight its display at Satellite 2012 with live demonstrations of its money-saving advertising verification software and its full-featured spectrum monitoring system. In addition, Crystal Solutions’ new spectrum monitoring software product, Sentry™, has been named a finalist for the World Teleport Association (WTA) 2012 Teleport Award for Excellence. Winners will be announced during the conference. Crystal CEO Roger Franklin will join a panel of industry experts during Satellite 2012 to discuss the growing issue of satellite interference.
Sentry™ Premiers at Satellite 2012
Featured in Crystal Solutions’ Booth #497 will be live demonstrations of Sentry™, the industry’s newest, spectrum monitoring solution. Sentry is an easy-to-use, affordable, spectrum monitoring software program that is ideally suited for television network broadcasting, satellite service providers, network operation centers, data and Internet, cell tower and ENG and microwave monitoring.
Sentry can work as a stand-alone solution or it can be integrated with Crystal Solutions’ Monitor and Control (M&C) system. When integrated with Crystal’s M&C system, Sentry can react to detected distribution anomalies and automatically route affected signals to advanced analysis devices for further investigation, or reconfigure earth station equipment to distribute content over an alternate path to fully restore services.
Sentry™ Nominated for Teleport Technology of the Year
The Sentry product was named a finalist in the category of Teleport Technology of the Year for the WTA’s annual Teleport Awards for Excellence. Products are nominated for the prestigious award by WTA members. Sentry™ was selected for its innovative ability to make more efficient use of the broadcast spectrum. Winners of the WTA awards will be announced during the conference on Tuesday, March 13.
AdCheck Highlights Crystal Solutions’ Booth #497
Crystal will also demonstrate AdCheck™, the industry’s first and only software solution for advertisement notification, verification and reconciliation. AdCheck combines off-the-shelf hardware with unique software programming to provide real-time verification. The software provides cue tone and DPI reconciliation and fault resolution to Master Control Room operators to ensure all advertising income opportunities are included in transmission streams.
CEO Roger Franklin Speaks on Satellite Interference
Crystal’s CEO Roger Franklin will be joined by other industry experts on a panel discussion focusing on the increasing problem of satellite interference and the impact recent Carrier ID programs are having identifying satellite transmissions. The panel entitled “Satellite Interference: The Counteroffensive Begins.” will be held Wednesday, March 14, at 10:15 a.m. in Room 209 of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Franklin has been involved with Crystal Solutions since its founding in 1986. His work outside the Company includes chairing the industry’s SIRG (Satellite Interference Reduction Group), the Carrier ID Working Group for SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) Data and Video Transmissions, and extensive involvement with the RFI-EUI (Radio Frequency Interference - End Users Initiative).
