SWISSto12 and PROFEN
announce strategic partnership to bring
industry-leading satellite connectivity solutions to
Turkey’s aerospace market
SWISSto12 and PROFEN,
announced a multi-year, strategic partnership to
bring industry-leading mobile connectivity solutions
to aerospace, maritime and telecommunication markets
worldwide.
The partnership between
SWISSto12 and PROFEN will accelerate the design,
development and production of 3D-printed K/Ka-band
antennas for SATCOM on the move (SOTM) user
terminals for in-flight, maritime and land mobile
connectivity. Additionally, the sales and
representation agreement for satellite
communications and surveillance applications in the
aerospace industry will facilitate the introduction
of SWISSto12’s overall RF product portfolio in
Turkey and countries where PROFEN is active.
SWISSto12 pioneered the
development of advanced Additive Manufacturing (AM)
technology, which has acquired strong momentum in
the aerospace industry over the last decade.
SWISSto12’s AM technology enables the production of
highly complex, intricate and non-conventional
product designs that were previously constrained by
manufacturing limitations of performance, weight,
size, and cost competitiveness. Through optimized
manufacturing tolerances, surface finishes, plating
techniques, and RF designs, SWISSto12 is able to
deliver advanced RF performance, size, and weight
savings while maintaining product competitiveness.
Dr. Emile de Rijk, SWISSto12
founder and CEO, said: “SWISSto12 is defined by its
purpose to connect the world through next-generation
space technology. The strategic partnership with
PROFEN is an important milestone in this endeavor
and our joint product portfolio will serve a growing
customer base with enhanced connectivity. PROFEN has
rightly established itself as a fast-growing leader
in the Turkish aerospace market and I am looking
forward to collaborating with a highly experienced
team as we bring a specialized RF offering to the
Turkish market and beyond.”
Onder Havuzlu, CEO of PROFEN,
said: “PROFEN’s reputation in targeted markets, and
technology and product development, together with
its systems integration expertise in satellite
communication, aligns with SWISSto12’s vision to
design and develop pioneering products. We believe
this long-term strategic partnership will strengthen
the market reach of both companies and ensure
real-time connectivity for our customer base
wherever it is needed. We are excited to broaden our
portfolio by including SWISSto12’s world-class
innovative RF products and also by collaborating on
the development of a very cost effective, high
performing SOTM terminal to solve connectivity
problems in the telecommunication, maritime and
aviation sectors.
By leveraging 3D printing
expertise and advanced technology, SWISSto12 is
addressing the increasingly challenging size,
weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) requirements of
prime contractors. Accordingly, SWISSto12 has
delivered over 1000 RF products successfully
operating in space applications today and its
technology has been acquired by a roster of renowned
international clients in recent years, including
Thales Alenia Space, Elbit Systems and Lockheed
Martin Space for space, aerospace or maritime
applications.
As a service provider to
industry-leading satellite operators, PROFEN has
already been contracted to integrate its in-flight
connectivity solution to 100+ narrowbody aircrafts
for prominent Turkish airlines. In addition, the
company has installed 10.000+ VSAT terminals for
clients worldwide. The first private teleport in
Turkey, which is owned and operated by PROFEN, and
Tier-3 data center strengthen PROFEN’s ability to
deliver the most innovative and high-quality
services and products for multi-national clients
globally.
