Telefónica Servicios
Audiovisuales and HISPASAT renew their agreement
to distribute the AMC Networks channels in Spain
and Portugal
24 November 2020
HISPASAT has renewed its
agreement with Telefónica Servicios
Audiovisuales (TSA), a company belonging to the
Telefónica group that specialises in audiovisual
services and solutions, to broadcast the
contents of the AMC Networks International
channels for Spain and Portugal. The three-year
agreement will offer subscribers in these
countries 14 channels that belong to AMC
Networks International Southern Europe, the
largest independent thematic TV channel producer
in Spain and Portugal.
HISPASAT currently
distributes audiovisual contents from its 30º
West orbital position to more than 10,000 cable
headends, which means that more than 65 million
homes receive content thanks to HISPASAT’s
fleet.
José Antonio Guerra,
Commercial Office and EMEA Sales Director at
HISPASAT, stated that “we are very proud that
both TSA and AMC Networks have once again placed
their trust in HISPASAT. Our extensive
experience in the audiovisual distribution
business and the ideal position of HISPASAT’s
satellites to provide these types of services in
Spanish and Portuguese always guarantees optimal
performance for operators and platforms that
want to distribute their contents”.
For Francisco Panduro, EMEA
Sales Manager at TSA, “relying on the coverage
and performance of HISPASAT’s satellites in the
30º West position was the natural option to
continue distributing the AMC Networks channels
in Spain and Portugal with the highest level of
quality and reliability”.
José Nabais CTO of AMC
Networks International Southern Europe, stated
that “thanks to this agreement renewal, the
distribution service for 14 of our channels in
Spain and Portugal will continue to count on the
backing of two market leaders, TSA and HISPASAT,
to keep offering the same great results as in
previous years”.<
