Skydelta Satellite Networks Leverages iDirect Platform to Expand Broadband Internet Services

February 1, 2010

SkyDelta Satellite Networks, has purchased and installed three iDirect Series 15000 Universal Satellite Hubs to expand the applications and geographical reach of its IP satellite broadband offerings. SkyDelta will leverage the iDirect platform to offer Internet packages and other services for small businesses, as well as more advanced connectivity applications for enterprise networks.

SkyDelta’s expanded solution set will support applications ranging from basic Internet access for file transfers, Web browsing, downloading and email, to advanced enterprise connectivity solutions including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), video conferencing and Voice over IP (VoIP). SkyDelta will operate its three iDirect hubs from the HSS-Stellar teleport located in Cologne, Germany and connect to Eutelsat's satellite fleet, providing a wide footprint area of connectivity across most of the Eastern Hemisphere.

iDirect’s Evolution platform forms the backbone of SkyDelta’s satellite-based broadband Internet services for individuals, businesses and corporate clients. Built on the next-generation DVB-S2 standard, Evolution offers SkyDelta significant efficiency gains and the flexibility to support a much wider range of Internet-based applications. Further, iDirect’s Evolution hubs can operate multiple high performance IP broadband networks, affording SkyDelta the versatility to expand networks with customer demand and add additional subscribers to its service.
