Thuraya Poised
for Government
Collaborations,
Post KSA
Roadshows
13 August 2017
Thuraya
Telecommunications
Company recently
held meetings
with
senior-level
officials and
government
system
integrators in
the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia
(KSA) to present
its latest
product
portfolio and
explore
possibilities
for
collaborative
ventures. The
roadshow that
took place in
July and
included visits
to Jeddah,
Riyadh and
Damam, was
exclusively
developed in
line with
increasing KSA’s
public sector
interests.
Thuraya’s
national service
partner, Farhan
Commercial
Company played a
pivotal role in
enabling
meetings with
the country’s
commanding
officers and
decision makers.
From formal
introductions
with new
potential
partners to
sit-downs with
long term
clients, each
meeting
maintained a
live demo
component:
Thuraya’s suite
of land voice
and data
products was on
display and
customers were
allowed to
conduct testing
on the equipment
of their
interest. Many
meetings were
held with
specialized
solution
integrators who
work with the
government to
deliver
customized
applications for
military and
government
vehicles.
Thuraya also
held discussions
to determine the
scope for
developing
specific M2M
solutions such
as seismic
sensors for the
KSA market.
Fahad Kahoor,
Director of
Market
Development at
Thuraya and team
lead on the KSA
trip says, “Our
relationship
with influential
companies like
Farhan has given
us a strong
foothold in KSA
and helped us
gain steady
growth in key
vertical markets
across the
region. Having
completed our
most recent
series of
meetings, we are
poised to
deliver tailored
solutions for
existing clients
and look forward
to actualizing
partnerships
that add
advanced
satellite
capabilities to
the KSA
government’s
technology-centric
plans.” He
added, “By being
in close contact
with service
partners and
clients, we had
the advantage of
listening to
customer
feedback in a
face-to-face
setting. We
value these
comments as
these help us
improve our
value
proposition and
product features
in a manner that
best benefits
the end-user.”
Thuraya’s
leading-edge
land data

long served
government and
military sectors

communication
needs. Its

vehicular
broadband
connectivity and
secure
communications
on-the-move.
Thuraya’s unique

example is
another popular
device that
caters to the
rising ‘bring
your own device’
phenomenon and
presents the
fastest way for
an individual to
transform their
existing phone
into a satellite
smartphone.

launch of
Thuraya IP M2M,
the company now
offers superior
capabilities for
IoT connectivity
in remote
locations and
industrial
sites. The

high volume,
high throughput
machine-to-machine
(M2M)
applications and
can deliver an
extended range
of solutions,
including
video-capturing
and seismic
sensors for
surveillance and
security;
real-time
applications for
oil and gas,
environmental
and water
monitoring, and
wind and solar
farm monitoring.
