26 October, 2015
Yahlive announced today that it has signed a capacity deal of one transponder with Adriatic Tours S.L., owners of Alpha One RTV Network, and that both companies will be collaborating to broadcast channels to the Balkan communities in the Middle East and North Africa in eight languages; Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, Albanian, Turkish, Spanish, English and Arabic. These free-to-air channels will be available to Yahlive viewers that are in the MENA footprint pointed at the Yahsat 1A satellite located at 52.5E.
This deal is in line with both Yahlive and Alpha One RTV Network’s business strategies that focus on targeting the different communities across the region and on providing popular home-grown TV entertainment complemented with a variety of premium international and local channels.
Commenting on the partnership, Sami Boustany, the CEO of Yahlive said: “Our aim is to provide content diversity to a wide range of audiences and communities within our footprint and we are thrilled to sign this deal with Alpha One RTV Network in order to extend our reach to the Balkan viewers of the region. The deal with Alpha One RTV Network is a testament to Yahlive’s commitment to connecting with the different viewer segments across our coverage areas and to providing our audience with high quality news and entertainment channels that they can all relate to. “
Yahlive already serves a large number of prominent communities in the region including the Arabic, Farsi, Afghan and Kurdish speaking communities. An IPSOS survey conducted earlier this year, highlighted that Yahlive has the highest overall score of satisfied new customers among regional satellite providers and that it is the fasted growing satellite broadcasting company in the region in terms of number of channels and viewers.
Mr. Zisko Mahir, General Manager, Adriatic Tours S.L. added; “We are happy to announce our strategic partnership in the field of satellite broadcasting. Our vision was to create bridges between nations and people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds and with the support of Yahlive, this dream is becoming reality. Adriatic Tours S.L. will offer all main stream media companies from Europe, especially those in the Balkan region, an opportunity to present their activities and programs on this state of the art satellite.”
Yahlive, headquartered in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, was launched in 2011 as a joint venture between the world leading satellite operator SES, and Yahsat a pioneering UAE-based satellite operator wholly owned by Mubadala, one of the leading Investment Arms of Abu Dhabi.
