Globecomm Opens Jakarta Office
Globecomm announced the opening of a new office in Jakarta, Indonesia, the nation’s capital, further extending its presence in Asia and in the Pacific region. The new Jakarta office will support the company’s sales efforts, customer support and engineering in the region. The office complements the company’s presence in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
“Expanding the presence of Globecomm Asia in one of the fastest growing regions is vital to our success,” said Globecomm Senior Vice President and General Manager of Globecomm Commercial Solutions, Andrew Silberstein.
Silberstein noted that the office will market the company’s new line of M2M and Media Platform services, as well as its line of managed network and satellite-related services to multiple market segments, especially media. Mr. Silberstein, who previously served as Globecomm's Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong, said the new office will conduct sales and provide technical and after-sales support to its customers on behalf of the company’s local partners.
The Jakarta office will be overseen by Benoit Mauffrey, Globecomm’s managing director for APAC. Mauffrey has over three decades of experience providing satellite systems and associated services for customers in the Asia Pacific region.
According to Globecomm, the region represents a growing media market which is investing in technology upgrades and the migration to more integrated sites and facilities on complex digital network platforms. The Jakarta team will provide engineering and design support to help facilitate this transition, in which media companies in the region have begun to increase investments. Globecomm noted that the Indonesian office and its activities will provide sales and services not only throughout Indonesia, but also in Brunei.
