A New STC Satellite Hub on ARABSAT

As part of Arabsat & STC long term partnership , ARABSAT announced the successful accomplishment of its project with STC -the leader GSM operator in MENA region- to renew and upgrade their satellite hub in Riyadh (Dirab), eventually to support the leading position of STC in the region in providing premium satellite communication & broadband services to both private and governmental sectors.

Khalid BALKHAYOUR, President  & CEO of ARABSAT said “The multi-million dollars renewal allows reliable communications throughout Arabsat Badr-5, the new-state-of-the-art satellite on 26°E, with extensive footprint which facilitate the operations of STC with high throughput links. ARABSAT and STC continue to work very closely to enhance their presence in domestic and international markets.”   

STC has stated that this step comes to keep up with the growing demand for communications services via satellite. Abdul Aziz AlSugair, Chairman of the Board of STC explained “the establishment of the station in partnership with Arabsat, will endorse the depth of experience in both organizations, in the field of developing communications services provided via satellite industry in the Middle East, throughout such huge investments in infrastructure and facilities. We are pretty sure that this partnership is support our capabilities to deliver a cutting-edge and reliable services to our clients,  as will as it will enhance our competences for excellence and innovation”.
