receives Eutelsat Type Approval
July 24, 2014
ND SatCom today
announced that it has received type approval for
its Ka2Go -Terminal for Eutelsat Broadband
Services. Eutelsat is one of the world's leading
satellite operators delivering service into 150
countries via 37 satellites.
Ka2Go -
Terminal has been awarded to be the system with
the most accurate pointing among of all type
approved Ka -band auto-deploy systems so far.
According to Eutelsat handbook “Type approvals
and characterizations” Ka2Go -Terminal has an
error pointing of ≤ 0,2° (2-1).
“Compared to other antennas with similar size,
the RF performance of Ka2Go – Terminal is up to
3 dB better!”, says Martin Blaser, Head
of Operations in ND SatCom, “This means you can
achieve much higher service availability and in
adverse weather conditions even higher data
rates. This is especially important for
customers who are looking for cross-media
solutions or who want to be prepared for larger
data rates in the future.”
The Ka2Go - Terminal
is an optimal solution to meet the growing need
for new means of content gathering and
transmission using Ka-band technology. It is a
lightweight plug & play terminal which is fully
KA-SAT compatible, therefore making it perfect
in combination with existing Ka-band service
offerings on the market. Terminal integrates a
KA-SAT modem, IP router and antenna controller
in one. It includes a patented motorized
positioner and is made up of a high precision
offset Ka-band reflector, GPS receiver, a
compass enabling auto-pointing and auto-network
acquisition. Ka2Go – Terminal fits on vehicles
of almost all sizes and is an ideal solution for
permanent or ad-hoc transmissions in Ka-band
with up to 10 Mbps data rate throughput.
