ISAT Announces Growth to
Profitability in its Second
Year
10 July 2013
iSat Limited a systems
integrator specialising in
satellite earth stations for
frequencies such as X-band
and Ka band for use by
government, satellite
operator and broadcasting
organisations, today
announced profits and strong
growth in only its second
year of trading.
"During volatile economic
conditions, iSat has managed
the delivery of complex
bespoke satellite systems
with compelling value for
money to governments and
broadcasters, where rugged
performance and quality are
still required", says Kevin
Cawood, iSat Chairman.
Through development of its
client base and a focus on
efficiency both in design
and production, iSat
continues to deliver bespoke
X-band and commercial band
systems, offering unrivalled
value to customers, both in
the UK and overseas. This
focus and commitment to
delivering exactly what the
customer needs, at a price
they can afford, has pushed
up post-tax profits to
£88,162 on a turnover of
£1.485 million. The majority
of the turnover came from
areas of high level system
integration including
elements of RF engineering
design in major earth
stations, monitor and
control software
configuration, writing
operations manuals, and
on-site installation and
test
of the final systems.
"We continue to succeed in
retaining a customer base
which consists of first
division blue chip European
defence companies and direct
government organisations.
Also of note was an increase
in after-sales service
contracts providing a
significant and regular
turnover," says Kevin
Cawood.
iSat has been working in the
field of Satellite
Monitoring Signal Processing
systems for the Dutch MOD
since an open tender was won
in the European Journal in
2005. iSat plans and manages
the signal integrity through
the entire RF chain, updates
system documentation and
supports new product
integration into its bespoke
monitor and control GUI.
iSat has been successful in
winning contracts in the
MENA region for TV Backhaul
VSAT circuits for connecting
national TV channels into
satellite TV bouquets
launched from media hubs.
iSat worked on integration
from the intake connectors
for audio visual through the
encoders, modems, amplifiers
(all 1:1 redundant) and
antenna, presenting the
control system as a single
user friendly GUI to all
equipment.
For the future, the company
has been working hard in its
stated strategy to develop a
portfolio of niche
engineering products
alongside its systems
integration activities.
Steady progress has been
made through 2012 with the
introduction of aluminium
non-penetrating mounts
(reducing CO2 emissions
associated with freight
cost), X-band transportable
systems and the rolling out
of an on-line repairs
portal.
In addition to its customer
focus, the company puts
great store in building
long term relationships with
synergistic suppliers who
benefit from its
marketing experience in
satellite communications, RF
skills, technical
knowledge and added value
services.
The company has a healthy
pipeline of future
opportunities, which are
projected to fuel further
growth as the company’s
skills and capability for
innovative solutions to
technically complex
satellite communication
requirements become more
widely known.
