Talia and PolarSat Bring Full
Hubless Mesh to Africa, the Middle East,
Europe, and Latin America
14 March 2013
Talia and
PolarSat are pleased to announce the
availability of new satellite mesh
networking solutions. With coverage
throughout the Middle East, Africa,
Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America,
Talia's mesh solution, powered by
PolarSat's proven technology, gives true
hubless site to site mesh for key
applications such as air traffic
control, banking, gas and oil, mining,
and government services.
'Bringing out an affordable, reliable
site-to-site satellite mesh networking
solution has always been one of our
targets,' said Ramiz Abbawi, Sales
Director Middle East and Africa for
Talia. 'PolarSat's fully-integrated
VSATPlus®3 platform and track-record --
this is a fourth-generation product --
delivers real benefits for many
customers in my regions.'
Mesh services interconnect remote sites
without a central point of control,
allowing satellite interconnection over
a single hop, reducing inter-site
latency from 1200ms by approximately
half. This is important for any
real-time application, such as voice,
video conferencing, database access, and
other client/server applications. Many
real time applications cannot function
with latency above 800ms. A hubless
solution also removes reliance on a
single control node.
'We're excited about offering new
services through Talia,' said Ron
Mankarious, Vice President of Sales and
Marketing at PolarSat. 'With Talia's
global coverage and excellent customer
track record we feel that they are an
ideal partner. The VSATPlus®3 product
expands Telias extensive solution
portfolio to provide private network
solutions combined with full mesh
connectivity that delivers a high
quality solutions at an affordable price
point.'
