Connecting essential financial bodies in a secure and efficient manner is a challenge in South Sudan, the newest country in the world. Talia, tasked with the interconnection, security, and resiliance of the network for the new country's central bank, worked in partnership with iDirect, to provide fast, secure, and reliable communications, enabling them to operate in today's global banking market.
Talia connects the bank's central office in Juba to branches nationwide through an iDirect mesh network. BOSS branch offices are remote, and have limited to no technical infrastructure. Talia's network enables efficient transfers, provides access to the central database, and connects it all with a complete disaster recovery centre.
'We are proud to be part of the birth of the newest state in the world,' said Travis Mooney, Talia's Chief Operations Officer. 'By providing a secure and flexible communications infrastructure, we hope to help the Government of South Sudan continue to grow.'
The Bank of South Sudan act as advisers and agents for all government financial transactions. The meshed private network enables secure tracking of all government funds.
'VT iDirect are delighted to support our partner Talia on this project in South Sudan. Talia have proven experience in delivering this type of infrastructure solution using our technology for banking customers across the Middle East and Africa.' Said Stephen Tunnicliffe, Regional Vice President, Europe, VT iDirect. 'VT iDirect's flexible and scalable network architecture make it an ideal technology for this type of banking network.'
