Horizon Globex achieves top satellite communications certification

One Horizon Group Plc, has announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Horizon Globex has been awarded the certifications for ISO 9001 and ISO 20000-1 through the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS), a leading provider of worldwide assessment and certification services.

The ISO 9001 standards are internationally recognized and certification is only awarded to organizations that meet strict standards for assuring quality in the products or services they offer. The ISO 9001 principles ensure that the company’s processes and performances are consistently monitored and continually improved to provide customer satisfaction.

ISO 20000-1 is the first worldwide standard specifically designed for IT service management. It promotes the adoption of an integrated process approach for the effective delivery of managed services to meet both business and end-user requirements.

Horizon Globex, an application platform provider, was established as a subsidiary of One Horizon Group Plc in 2010. The company develops the group’s Horizon solution, which is the world’s most bandwidth efficient VoIP platform and a range of optimised data applications, including compressed email, accelerated web browsing and instant messaging. Based on the company’s Smartpacket™ technology, Horizon offers VoIP from only 2kbps compared to around 8kbps from other VoIP services.
