Arabsat launches its satellite 5-C successfully
5-C is Arabsat 3rd Satellite of the fifth-generation

Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) has successfully launched 5 – C today, its third satellite of the fifth generation, from French Guyana Island in South America by
the Ariane – 5 Rocket .
The Ariane 5 rocket blasted off exactly at 00:40 am, Thursday 22 Sept. 2011 carrying Satellite 5C, manufactured by both French companies Astrium and Thales, to fit in Arabsat orbit 20 Degree East.
In a celebration held by Arabsat attended by all employees to watch the launch Eng./ Khaled bin Ahmed Balkheyour President & CEO of Arabsat, said “We are very thankful for the successful launch of 5C ,which will join the fleet of Arabsat satellites operating in space.”
He also added" Arabsat satellite 5C will provide new large capacities on both frequencies, (Ka-band) to provide all communications and Broadband services in the Arab Region and on (C-band) to provide telecommunications and TV broadcasting services, to the whole African continent.
It is worth mentioning that Arabsat owns an integrated fleet of satellites that provides all communications and TV satellite broadcasting services with a full pack up in the orbit on all Arabsat positions 20, 26 and 30.5 degree East .
