Five New Contracts for Avanti

9 February, 2011

Avanti Communications announced a group of five new contracts for the sale of HYLAS 1 services in Europe.  New contracts have been signed by Buzz Networks and Rural Broadband UK of the UK, Broadband Algarve of Portugal and Globatel of Spain.  Also Prime Satellite Broadband, an existing customer, has signed an extended contract for more capacity and extending the commitment from three years to five years.

Commenting, David Williams, Avanti Chief Executive, said:
“Since the successful launch of HYLAS 1, sales activity has increased notably.  The flexible, efficient Avanti business model combined with attractive pricing and quality of service is clearly resonating with new potential customers around the World.

“As our current customers progress their own sales efforts they are likely to top up their commitments next year, so we expect to sell out HYLAS 1 capacity within the planned three years with the growth in demand from existing and new broadband customers.  In addition we are experiencing significant bidding activity for large enterprise and cellular backhaul deals which could accelerate the rate of fill.”
