Speedcast Launches On-Demand Plans To Meet Customers' Global Mobility Needs

9 February 2011

SpeedCast Ltd., announced new flexible on-demand service plans under its FlyCast portfolio of rapid deployment products to serve the mobility needs of customers in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

SpeedCast pioneered the delivery of a global Ku-band network, using multiple satellites and beams, specifically to support the needs of highly mobile customers with rapid deployment requirements, such as media, disaster management, and government applications. Over the past several years, SpeedCast has developed this extensive infrastructure for providing seamless connectivity on a global basis, and in particular with complete coverage over Africa, the Middle East, and Asia for broadband communications services.

These unique capabilities have positioned SpeedCast to be the satellite service provider of choice for resellers who service the Media, Disaster Management, Government, Oil & Gas, and Mining industry verticals. These verticals have specific requirements for mobility and flexible service.

SpeedCast’s FlyCast portfolio of products are designed for rapid deployment, featuring satellite-based broadband service, using portable antennas, secure transmission and supporting voice, video data, and Internet applications. Users can enjoy the same level of Internet access, VPN support, voice calls and video conferencing that they would in their office environment. Further this service is not affected by public network disruptions, typically common during emergency events, in conflict areas, and in remote locations.

SpeedCast has expanded its service plan options, announcing new flexible on-demand service plans for its FlyCast portfolio of products. These new plans are designed to meet the specific needs of customers who require variable levels of usage, over periods of time. Customers can tailor a service plan to best match their usage patterns and bandwidth requirements for their specific applications and budgets.

"SpeedCast was the first company to introduce a global Ku-band service, delivering unparalleled mobility for our customers for their bandwidth-intensive critical applications, combining voice, video, and data requirements. Our FlyCast portfolio of rapid deployment products and our new flexible service plans are ideally suited to customers with high mobility requirements and unpredictable usage patterns," said Pierre-Jean Beylier, CEO of SpeedCast.

SpeedCast will continue to expand its Global Ku-band Network with additional coverage, in order to provide the highest level of service and support for their customers wherever they are around the world.
