Lunasat  VSat Division and IDMI announce their merger

The "VSAT division of Lunasat Offshore Sal" and IDMH’s subsidiaries, ""IDMI Sal Offshore" and "Communications Network Services Inc" have announced their merger during a reception at the Gulfcomms/Gitex event .

To concretize this transaction, both parties shall establish a new company, "Lunasat-IDMI" shortly.

Lunasat is a regional player in the telecom industry and a system integrator providing turnkey solutions and services to Governments, Institutions, Corporations, GSM operators and end-users in the MENA region.

Lunasat enjoys a proven track record of thousands of networks installed and commissioned under the most extreme conditions so to provide timely and reliable Satellite coverage to end users along with the appropriate maintenance and support services . With the valuable collaboration of its dedicated and professional team, Lunasat expanded into a service provider with a sizeable logistics and support department.

IDM is Lebanon's leading ISP with about 60% of the high speed Internet connection segment covering the individual and the corporate sectors. End of 2004, IDM founders took the next big step forward and announced the creation of IDMI Sal Offshore that will integrate all the Group’s innovation capabilities and expertise in Internet and wireless data transmission. Its activities embraces: design & engineering, information & telecommunication systems, with a business scope covering the Middle East, West Asia and Africa.

During the few years of operations, IDMI was able to have a large pool of satellite capacity with major providers.

This merger represents a pooling of the expertise of two Key Service providers well established in the Middle East and Africa regions, in an effort to develop and offer competitive turnkey solutions in Satellite communications , benefits and services to our respective clients and partners alike, be it:

• Hardware & Software supply,

• Installation and Commissioning of services,

• Specialized IT solutions,

• Satellite Communication Services,

• Voice over IP,

• Fleet Management and Tracking system over satellite,

• Turnkey Solutions.

The general management of both entities strongly believes that the combined business will certainly have a broader retail and corporate presence in the Middle East, West Asia avd Africa regions, and will result in a substantial improvement of the operational efficiency in areas such as Procurement, Marketing and Information Technology.
