GVF Announces New Board of Directors Leadership for 2010-2011

GVF,  , has today announced the result of the 2010 election for its Board of Directors, the body which sets and guides the overall strategic policy development and implementation direction for the global industry's initiatives and programmes.
 
The final tally of votes received from the Association’s Full Member companies was made, and the preliminary result declared, on Friday 17th September 2010, at the close of the COMSYS VSAT 2010 conference in London. The preliminary result was then subject to final legal confirmation under the terms of the Company Law of England & Wales – where GVF is legally registered – the Articles & Memorandum of Association of the Forum, and of the Constitution of the GVF.
 
In confirming the final result, David Hartshorn, Secretary General of GVF said today that he was “pleased to announce the following individuals had been re-elected/elected as members of the GVF Board of Directors: Arunas Slekys, Hughes, the current Chairman of GVF; John Miller, Cable & Wireless Worldwide; Jay Yass, Intelsat; Nancy Eskenazie, SES; and, Mark Steel, Cobham."
 
“These individuals will serve their two-year term of office as Directors alongside the other members of the Board previously elected: David Bettinger, iDirect; and, Matteo Altobelli, Eutelsat.”
 
The GVF Board of Directors comprises seven individuals nominated/elected by the Full Membership of the Association. David Hartshorn further commented that, “the new Board will provide the GVF with the benefit of the collective experience of key senior executives from leading organisations in driving forward the Forum’s initiatives to support the satellite industry’s global agenda. We look forward to their leadership in guiding GVF initiatives on satellite regulation, training, type approvals, development projects, as well as heightening awareness of the advantages afforded by satellite-based solutions.”
