Pace Networks to target Indian and UAE markets

4th May 2010

Pace Networks,  has signed Kromtek as its latest Networks Approved Partner (NAP). United Arab Emirates-based Kromtek will rollout the MultiDweller® distribution platform to its payTV customers in India, opening up payTV and other entertainment services as the sub-continent moves from analogue to digital. Kromtek will also target  hotels in Dubai.

Many Indian towns and cities are currently served by older analogue head-ends, prohibiting many citizens from accessing payTV due to the significant cost and disruption of installing new equipment. Able to distribute digital content over any co-axial cabling, MultiDweller is a rapid and extremely cost-effective way of providing access to entertainment services. Kromtek, a leading system integrator focussed on broadband and cable markets will deploy MultiDweller through its cable TV operator customers, whose reach extends across India.

"MultiDweller represents a perfect solution for many parts of India where the widespread use of older head-ends and legacy wiring means large swathes of the population cannot access premium entertainment services," commented Mr. Jose V. Joseph, Director of Kromtek. "We have strong relationships with many payTV operators across India whose growth is being restricted by the inability to target these hard-to-reach viewers. Pace's Networks Approved Partner programme will give us a compelling product platform, along with highly knowledgeable sales and technical support, to
enable us to bring such consumers into the digital TV age."

Andrew Ward, General Manger, Pace Networks said: "India is full of consumers excited by the latest digital entertainment services, with lots of operators desperate to target them. MultiDweller brings these two parties together, and because it requires no new cabling infrastructure, operators are able to increase their subscriber bases for a very low outlay."

In the hotel environment, MultiDweller opens up access to massive bandwidth with minimum disruption to the hotel's business. Kromtek will target hotel groups in Dubai with MultiDweller, allowing them to deliver next-generation converged digital services to their customers, dramatically enhancing the in-room entertainment experience.
