Da Vinci Media Launches New Channel on AMOS-3

23 March 2010

Spacecom has been selected by Germany’s Da Vinci Media GmbH to distribute the Da Vinci Learning Channel, targeting Eastern and Central Europe, over the AMOS-3 satellite located at
the 4W orbital slot.  Da Vinci Media and Spacecom signed a long-term agreement for transmission over the satellite.

Produced in Germany, the educational channel is uplinked via Budapest for broadcast throughout Hungary, Romania, Poland, Slovenia, Ukraine and Bulgaria. Spacecom is providing both satellite capacity and uplink services through a local business partner. The Da Vinci Learning Channel’s
programming focuses on knowledge and interactive learning to facilitate the learning process and provide true education.

“Spacecom’s coverage, range of services and rich neighborhood were the primary drivers behind our decision to partner with them for long-term access to capacity on the AMOS-3 satellite,” said Ferdinand Habsburg, managing director for Da Vinci Media. “Our learning channel brings not only
the best of entertaining education programming, but also the inspiration to amaze and enable our viewers to enrich their knowledge.”

“We are excited by the addition of Da Vinci Learning to the diverse roster of broadcasters Spacecom serves. Viewers throughout the region will benefit from the best in educational viewing, and we are glad to bring this to the public over our AMOS-3 platform,” remarked Amit Karni, VP sales at Spacecom.

Spacecom president and CEO David Pollack commented, “The AMOS constellation’ s capabilities over Central and Eastern Europe allow Spacecom to satisfy a critical need for capacity across the region. The AMOS-2 and AMOS-3 provide superb coverage and an exciting channel neighborhood. When coupled with our reputation for service excellence, we continue to see growth for the company
in this region.”
