Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) and ICS Technologies Iraq have signed a 3 year, multi-transponder pre-launch contract for bandwidth capacity on the ABS-2 satellite scheduled to be operational in 2012. ICS Technologies will be leasing Ku-band capacity on the Middle East/N. Africa beam and C-band capacity on the West Hemi beam covering Africa for the deployment of VSAT services.

ICS Technologies in an Iraqi registered company that brings together an exceptionally distinguished combination of expertise in Project Management, Engineering, Consultancy, Contracting services, Placement, Procurement and Logistics. With its core competencies fully focused on Information Technology and Communications, ICS Technologies is today the preferred partner for many international manufacturers, vendors, international corporations, agencies and governments. With a range of projects and clients that is difficult to match, ICS Technologies is well positioned in the Iraqi market as a formidable and dependable partner in all ITC projects.

“We are delighted to work with ICS Technologies to offer them capacity on our new ABS-2 satellite. ICS Technologies is a key customer of ABS-1 capacity and the capacity on ABS-2, which will be co-located with ABS-1 at the same orbital location, will enable ICS to expand their VSAT network distribution across the MENA and Africa,” said Tom Choi, Chief Executive Officer of ABS. “We are offering priority to our existing customers to take capacity on the ABS-2 satellite, and we are pleased to have ICS as a long term customer expanding their business on ABS-2.”

Mr Mohammed Taha, Managing Director of ICS Technologies commented, “We believe that the future of satellite communication in the MENA region is quite assured and such a step for ICS represents a vote of confidence in both the market and our partnership with ABS. Our experience over the past few years suggests that the increased demand for services in this field is matched by higher client awareness as to quality and stability of service which we proved time and time again to all our clients”.
