Thrane & Thrane,  and SpeedCast Ltd., announced the upcoming launch of the SAILOR 900 VSAT antenna system on SpeedCast’s Global Maritime Broadband Network.

The SAILOR 900 VSAT represents a leap-forward in VSAT antenna performance and benefits from the high reliability, build quality and functionality that has made SAILOR the leading name in the world of maritime communications. Likewise, SpeedCast is a pioneer in the delivery of a seamless auto-beam-switching broadband communications service using multiple satellites operating in the Ku-band for maritime customers.

The partnership allows Thrane & Thrane and SpeedCast to respond to the increasing demand for affordable satellite communications coming from the maritime community. Thrane & Thrane and SpeedCast have agreed to enter into the partnership to provide comprehensive broadband packages comprised of the SAILOR 900 VSAT, and SpeedCast’s network connectivity and value-added services.

"SAILOR 900 VSAT is an important milestone in our strategy to support the maritime broadband market with high quality products and the SAILOR 900 VSAT perfectly complements our hugely successful, market-leading SAILOR FleetBroadband portfolio," comments Casper Jensen, Vice-President Maritime Business Unit, Thrane & Thrane. "We are pleased to be partnering with SpeedCast, who is a pioneer in the delivery of a high performance broadband maritime network."

Thrane & Thrane and SpeedCast will also co-operate and combine their efforts by leveraging each other’s distribution channels to increase the effectiveness of marketing, distribution, delivery and support for their offerings.

SAILOR 900 VSAT is designed and built to the exact same standards as Thrane & Thrane’s existing SAILOR products, which have become the de facto industry standard in the

professional maritime industry thanks to their reliability, suitability for the harsh maritime environment and the high-levels of global support offered by Thrane & Thrane.

"As broadband connectivity becomes a core part of maritime operations across every segment of the industry, we continue to expand the coverage and capabilities of our maritime VSAT network to serve our customers better," said Nick Dukakis, Vice President for Maritime & Offshore Services, SpeedCast Ltd. "Thrane & Thrane’s extensive experience in maritime communications equipment and its worldwide support presence is highly complementary with SpeedCast’s network services capabilities, and allows us to deliver the best-in-class broadband communications service to maritime customers."
