announced
that
Hormuud
Telecommunication
has
signed
a
multi-year
agreement
to
deploy
O3b’s
unique
satellite
network
connectivity
in
the
capital
Mogadishu,
as
well
as
central
and
southern
Somalia.
The
Somali
Mobile
Network
Operator
(MNO)
will
be
deploying
O3b’s
trunking
solution,
O3bTrunk,
in
the
capital
city,
as
well
as
O3bCell
for
mobile
backhaul
in
other
areas
of
central
and
southern
Somalia.
Hormuud
Telecommunication
started
operations
in
April
2002
from
the
capital
city
Mogadishu,
and
now
leads
Somalia’s
telecommunication
industry.
It
is
the
biggest
Operator
in
Somalia
in
terms
of
customer
base
and
in
terms
of
coverage.
It
provides
state-of-the-art
services
to
its
customers.
Hormuud
Telecom
Offers
ALL
types
of
Data
Services
such

Fixed
Broad
Band(FBB),
Mobile
Broad
Band
(MBB)

will
land
700km
wide
satellite
beams
in
Central
and
Southern
Somalia
to
provide
Hormuud
with
unprecedented,
reliable
connectivity
across
these
Regions.
The
O3b
satellite
constellation
brings
unmatched

satellite

Being
in a
unique
orbit
closer
to
the
earth
than
conventional
geostationary
satellites,

satellites

reduced
latency,

voice
