New at CABSAT: DEV ARCHIMEDES RF Matrix – up to 64 x 64 in 4 RU

For the first time at CABSAT, DEV Systemtechnik, a Quintech Company is showcasing ARCHIMEDES, DEV’s newest RF Matrix Switch, at CABSAT 2015, Stand No. 515.  ARCHIMEDES sets new benchmarks in performance, size and price.

The L-Band Distributing Matrix ARCHIMEDES is built in a high density 4 RU chassis. Optical inputs, unique redundancy options for inputs, outputs and controller plus many more features that give satellite, cable and broadcast facilities the most flexibility and reliability available.  ARCHIMEDES can be designed in standard configurations of from 16x32 up to 64x64, and is easily upgraded in increments of 8. The LNB power option allows each RF input port to deliver LNB power and to select the polarity and the band of the LNB. In addition, the matrix provides an integrated TV Receiver, which can be operated via the full HD multi-touch display.

“ARCHIMEDES offers stronger performance than any competing product on the market in its class, and does so in a smaller, smarter package,” says Jörg Schmidt, Managing Director of DEV. “With capabilities such as variable gain and tilt, DC insertion, local user interface and many other advanced technical characteristics, ARCHIMEDES’ RF performance is superior to competing RF Matrices on the market.   It is smaller, fitting 64 x 64 in just a 4 RU. It is smarter because it offers unique features and redundancy options, and it is 40% lower in price than comparable previous DEV matrices.”

For industry operators requiring larger configuration RF Matrix Switching Systems, Quintech’s XTREME 256 supports a variety of large symmetric and asymmetric configurations such as 64x192 or 128x128, all in a single 12 RU chassis.

Expansion by Reduction: Both ARCHIMEDES and the XTREME 256 allow operators to expand their capacity and capabilities, while radically reducing size, power consumption and cost.
