RIDE! and TelePIX signed
a first contract for radio frequency
registration support
December 7th 2022
RIDE! is pleased to count among its
customers TelePIX, a
South Korean company based in Seoul. The South Korean
company founded in 2019 aims
to launch a constellation of satellites from 2025 to
make observations of the Earth. To
validate its technological assets, the flight of a first
module (IOD) is planned for 2024.
It is in this context that RIDE!
comes up. The radio frequency is a resource as rare as
precious that’s why its registration and its
securitisation is mandatory for any satellite
operator. However, the steps can be laborious. RIDE!
aims to provide a simple and smooth
process on all the steps to be taken to determine the
ideal radio frequencies for the
upcoming TelePIX’s satellite.
Indeed, to communicate each
satellite must be able to use radio frequencies. To do
so, all
space radio emissions must be declared and registered
with the ITU. This declaration
allows proper use of the radio spectrum and avoids any
communication interference
problems that could potentially create devastating
problems once the satellite is in orbit.
For TelePIX, this is time saved and
an additional chance to focus on the most valuable
tasks for the upcoming launch.
This announcement follows the
presentation by RIDE! of a consolidated offer of 4
services
for satellite operators: Launch call for tender &
procurement, Radio Frequency Registrationsupport, Launch
Environment Compliance & Test, and Launch Integration &
Interface.
Valentin BENOIT, CEO & Co-Founder
of RIDE!
"We are delighted to sign this contract with TelePIX and
we thank them
for their growing confidence since we met. This
partnership strengthens
our international presence and especially on South
Korean territory.
Moreover, the signature of this
contract with TelePIX is proof that the
decisions taken these last months have been the right
ones: the registration of radio
frequencies is a very interesting service for the New
Space companies which struggle to
see clearly in the international regulatory landscape.
We have developed this experience
when operators have repeatedly asked us for this
service.”
Seongick CHO, CEO & Co-Founder of
TelePIX
“It is a great pleasure for us to work with RIDE! We
believe RIDE! is an
excellent partner to cooperate with in the field of
launch service and
radio frequency registration for satellites. In the New
Space era,
competition between companies is getting intensive and
it is important
to develop a strong network for cooperation. TelePIX is
developing several important
space missions with our state-of-the-art EO/IR payloads,
and we hope to make a global
network for cooperation based on our capability in space
missions. We have also been
devoting ourselves to develop core technologies for
future space missions and satellite
constellations operations, and RIDE! and TelePIX have
been discussing ways of effectively
enhancing value of both companies. We look forward to
seeing more cooperation cases
in the space sector, between companies, institutes, and
nations.”
