Indian Technology Transfer Conclave

Space reforms mandate, New Space India Ltd (NSIL) to transfer the technologies developed by ISRO to the Indian industry for commercial use. For last two years, 78 technologies were transferred to NSIL for commercialization. To promote this further, a technology transfer conclave was organized on 27th June, 2022 at ISRO Head Quarters, Bangalore. Thirty six industries participated and 11 ToT agreements were exchanged between industry & NSIL. Sri S Somanath, Secretary, DOS inaugurated the event and addressed the participants. Sri D Radhakrishnan CMD, NSIL, Sri M Sankaran, Director, URSC, Smt. Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, Additional Secretary, DOS and other officials from DOS & ISRO also participated.

Chairman, ISRO re-iterated that technology transfer will enable the industry to absorb high end technologies developed by ISRO over a period of time and leverage the industry to scale them up for much advanced applications. He expressed his confidence that the day is not too far for the reversal to happen, when critical technologies developed by industry will be used for ISRO missions. He emphasized the potential of technologies in the domain of space applications. He also highlighted some of the futuristic strategies by ISRO in production of operational systems. The role of NSIL in taking the ISRO technologies to the industry in a proactive manner was appreciated.

Various ISRO centres presented the potential technologies, which are ready for transferring in near future. During the feedback session, CMD, NSIL has clarified the participants on their queries. Industry applauded the efforts of ISRO in hand holding during the technology transfer process.
