Nagai Yutaka Appointed as the New APSCC President

APSCC has announced that in the 2010 APSCC Plenary meeting, held on October 6, 2010 at Hilton Hotel in Tokyo, Japan Mr. Nagai Yutaka was elected as the new APSCC President effective January 2011.

 

In accordance with the APSCC Constitution, Mr. Nagai will lead APSCC for the next two-year term (2011-2012). As the main representative of APSCC, he will be responsible for implementing the directions and guidelines set by the Constitution and the General Assembly, in consultation with the Board of Directors, Vice Presidents and Executive Director. Mr. Nagai succeeds Dr. Phinaintisart who has served as APSCC President for the past four years.

 

Mr. Nagai was a member of the APSCC Board of Directors from 2009 to 2010. He is currently Director of the Board as well as Senior Executive Vice President of SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation which is the largest satellite operator in Asia with 12 satellites covering all of Japan and Asia, as well as Oceania and North America.

 

Under the leadership of the new President, APSCC will continue to promote communications and broadcasting via satellite as well as outer space activities in the Asia-Pacific region. APSCC will also strive to link its members together to exchange views on satellite-related policies, technologies, systems, and services and to bring individuals in the industry together to work as a powerful collective voice for region.
