ST Teleport turns to iDirect Evolution VSAT platform for Challenging Maritime & Remote Environments

The joint efforts of ST Teleport and iDirect have produced a highly reliable communications platform that’s deployable world-wide. To power its network, ST Teleport has purchased iDirect 5IF satellite hubs and Evolution X5 remotes, with flexibility to easily scale the network as business expands.

With Evolution, ST Teleport gains the reliability of a cost-effective IP broadband solution that provides always-on connectivity. Evolution offers a suite of integrated tools that are tailored to make network management more simple and affordable for the maritime industry. With Group Quality of Service (GQoS) ST Teleport can segment bandwidth across multiple ships - even across fleets - and prioritize allocation according to each ship’s dynamic requirements. Further, iDirect’s Automatic Beam Switching (ABS) feature enables seamless global coverage, entirely eliminating the need for an onboard technician to manually handle connectivity transitions between satellite beams.
