Pactel International now offers Satellite, Voice and GSM solutions to Asia-Pacific, Australia and Indonesia under C-band from their hub in Hawaii

Pactel International successfully completed installation of the new DVB-S2 ACM system hub in Hawaii. This upgrade enabled Pactel International to extend their Internet, Voice and GSM services into the Asia-Pacifi c, Australia and Indonesia under C-Band, due to a growing demand in those regions.

The new DVB-S2 ACM platform runs on Apstar-6 satellite. It is based on the state-of-the-art Newtec Elevation technology, designed for the transmission and reception of IP streams over satellite at rates of up to 133 Mbit/s in full compliance with the DVB-S2 standards. The platform connects directly to Pactel’s redundant backbone in Hawaii via Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces and is itself in a fully redundant confi guration. The upgrade allowed Pactel International to supply a continued quality of service to their customers by extending the existing services further to the Asia-Pacifi c, Australia and Indonesia on a more reliable, cost-effective platform. It also presented an opportunity for Pactel International to reach new markets in those regions, such as local telecommunications carriers, corporate networks and Mining, Oil and Gas industries.
