Revenues from services of THAICOM 1A, 2, 5, satellites and related services were Baht 637 million baht, an increase of 8.3% from Baht 588 million in the first quarter of 2009. This was due mainly to the increase in transponder leasing services from the satellite television broadcasting business. While revenues of THAICOM 4 satellite services were reported as Baht 561 million, an increase of 13.8% over the same period last year. Revenues from bandwidth services increased 28.5% in accordance with the company strategy, which aims at increasing the bandwidth utilization by opening access of other systems and equipment manufacturers to work with the IPSTAR system.

Revenues from the telephone business were Baht 452 million, a decrease of 23.5% due to stiff competition in the Cambodian market.  However, when compared to the same period last year, MFone had a 27% year-on-year increase in revenue-per-minute. While Lao Telecommunications showed continued growth in the number of subscribers. Revenues of Internet access and media services were Baht 134 million. According to the consolidated financial statements, the Company recorded net loss of Baht 157 million, a decrease of Baht 63 million from the Baht 220 million net loss in the first quarter of 2009. This was due to losses on foreign exchange, finance costs reduction and increase in share of profits of associate. The Company reported its Debt-to-Equity Ratio of 0.57 times and the net cash flow from operating activities of Baht 1.09 billion, an increase of Baht 237 million or 27.7% from the same period last year. The main reason was because the Company received advance receipts for the IPSTAR service from the Japanese customer in the amount of approximately Baht 326 million. The Company’s ending cash as of March 31, 2010 was Baht 1.66 billion.
