ABU DBS 2018 to address key topics on
Enhancing Multiplatform Content
The ABU’s annual Digital Broadcasting
Symposium (DBS) will take place from 5 to 8 March at the Royale
Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The theme of the symposium is ‘Enhancing Multiplatform Content’.
It is the 14th in a series of annual symposiums staged by the
ABU to help radio and television broadcasters and the industry.
It comprises an international conference, focused workshops,
interactive masterclasses and an industry exhibition showcasing
the latest technologies and services from around the world.
The Principal Sponsor is WorldDAB for the fifth year running.
WorldDAB is the global industry forum for digital radio,
facilitating the adoption and implementation of broadcast
digital radio based on the standards DAB and DAB+.
Four industry players have joined as major sponsors: MEDIAGENIX,
Rohde & Schwarz, Dolby and the Malaysian Communications and
Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
The symposium provides a platform to share expertise and
experiences, network with like-minded colleagues and showcase
new technologies and solutions.
The conference, workshops and masterclasses will address a wide
range of topics covering radio and television broadcasting and
webcasting.
A new feature this year is an Immersive VR Master Class run by
the World VR Forum. Participants will be able to experience
examples of virtual reality in context and with a headset on
their head.
The conference and exhibition will run from 6 to 8 March, with
the workshops starting a day earlier.
