Million of Orders for
Network Expansion
Project in Asia

Comtech EF Data
Corp., was awarded
orders totaling $5.0
million for SATCOM
equipment and services
to expand a
communication network in
Asia, $3.9 million of
which was received
during its second
quarter and $1.1 million
was received during its
first quarter. Comtech
EF Data’s equipment was
chosen as being the most
efficient for the
application after the
customer conducted a
thorough competitive
analysis and various
technology
demonstrations.
The customer will use
Comtech EF Data’s
CDM-570A/L-IP Satellite
Modems and CDD-564A IP
Demodulators to allocate
dynamically bandwidth
and optimize data
traffic as required
among many different
sites. The CDM-570A/L-IP
is the latest upgrade to
the industry leading
CDM-570 series and
includes support for
Comtech’s low latency
LDPC Forward Error
Correction, the
revolutionary
bandwidth compression,
and optimized transmit
filter rolloffs down to
5%, providing
significant
bandwidth-power savings.
The modem also features
intelligent header
compression and a
lossless payload
compression engine to
ensure that only
essential information is
transmitted across the
satellite link. By
leveraging the
horsepower, efficiency
and intelligence of
Comtech’s complete modem
and multiplexer
solution, the customer
is positioned to easily
add remote sites and
allocate bandwidth
resources when and where
needed.
