Philippines' Globe Telecom Partners with iDirect to Provide Satellite Communications to Corporate Clients

Dec. 10, 2014

Philippine telecommunications service provider, Globe Telecom will leverage iDirect's Evolution platform coupled with its X3 remote to offer corporate clients robust, flexible, and high speed connectivity that can meet their critical business needs and allow them to widen their reach in the Philippines.

Globe Telecom, through its corporate and enterprise information and communications technology arm Globe Business, will be running data services in the Philippines over a multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network, targeting automated teller machines or ATM banking, mining, and government services as initial markets.

The partnership between iDirect, which is the world leader in satellite-based IP-communications technology, and Globe Telecom will bring very small aperture terminal (VSAT) connectivity to regions of the Philippines that are out of reach of terrestrial services. In addition, it will facilitate the establishment of disaster recovery networks to enable reliable voice and data communications at all times.

"With this partnership, Globe Business will leverage iDirect's best-in-class satellite capabilities and further strengthen our commitment to provide our customers with leading-edge technologies that will help their businesses achieve greater connectivity and efficiency." Nikko Z. ACOSTA, Senior Vice President, Globe Business

"We are excited about the partnership with Globe Telecom, which marks iDirect's entry into the Philippines, an important new growth market for VSAT in the Asia-Pacific region." Tom CHEONG, General Manager, iDirect Asia
