ITC Global Expands Presence in Asia Pacific with New Operations in Singapore

May 20, 2014

ITC Globalhas appointed industry veteran Ashok Rao to open new operations in Singapore, and expand its business across Asia. The new Singapore office extends ITC Global’s existing presence in Asia Pacific, which is headquartered in Perth, Australia, by placing additional facilities and personnel closer to customers in the offshore energy and commercial maritime markets. The new office will initially provide sales, engineering and customer support resources, with near term additions in field operations.

Leading the new Singapore office and serving as Director of Asia Development for ITC Global is Ashok Rao. Ashok recently joined the company after serving five years as IT Business Leader for EMAS, a subsidiary of the ERZA Group, which provides specialised marine services to the oil and gas industry with a fleet of 60 offshore support vessels. Prior to EMAS, Ashok spent 30 years in various senior level roles with Schlumberger, the world’s largest oil field services organization.

The new ITC Global office in Singapore is part of a larger strategic investment to enhance the company’s ability to serve emerging clients requirements. Over the last two years, the company has methodically expanded its global coverage and local presence, through a private equity recapitalization and a series of acquisitions and capital investments. The new Singapore office follows ITC Global’s expansion earlier this year in the European market, with the opening of new operations in Aberdeen, Scotland to support clients in the North Sea region.

Chris Hill, Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director for Asia Pacific said, “We are very excited to be establishing ITC Global offices in Singapore. As a major hub for both the energy and maritime industries, the new offices enable us to be closer to our clients’ operations. And with Ashok’s leadership and extensive experience on both the supplier and end-user side of remote communications, our customers will benefit from a team that truly understands their unique requirements.”

With nearly 1,500 remote sites deployed across 60 countries and all the world’s oceans, ITC Global is the market leader in satellite communications to the mining industry, and holds the third largest share in the offshore oil and gas market. Combined with local offices and deployed personnel in nearly 40 countries, services on over 30 satellites, and more than 20 teleport interconnections, ITC Global has firmly established itself among the top 3 global service providers for satellite communications to remote industrial markets.
