Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), announced that they have been chosen to provide satellite-based solutions to premier banks and institutions (private and public) and won orders worth Rs.1500 Million in the first half of the current financial year. These wins have strengthened HCIL's leadership position in the satellite broadband market in India.
HCIL has received multiple orders from premier banks to provide managed services to over 800 locations across India. HCIL also announced that they have received orders from Tata Communications Payment Services Limited (TCPSL) to enable and establish White label ATM services across 600 locations.
In addition, HCIL will also establish and maintain end-to-end satellite broadband connectivity for a period of three to five years at multiple locations across the country through alliances with various institutions such as Punjab and Sind Bank, Bombay Stock Exchange, and British Gas to name a few.
Speaking on the achievements, Shivaji Chatterjee, head of the enterprise business at HCIL said, "Our new business wins and market growth have enabled us to maintain and strengthen our market leadership in the satellite broadband domain. Achieving a steady growth of 18-20 percent in the enterprise satellite segment in a challenging business environment is testimony to an ever increasing demand for easily deployable, reliable, broadband connections in remote locations or in areas underserved by terrestrial services. Going forward, we continue to see the Banking and Financial Services industry as the big driver of our managed services portfolio in India followed by the e-governance, defense and SME sectors."
