Arianespace announces a launch
contract for SKY Perfect JSAT

Japanese operator SKY Perfect JSAT
Corporation has chosen Arianespace to
launch a new satellite
Stéphane Israël, Chairman and CEO of
Arianespace announced today in Paris the
signature of the launch contract with
SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation.
Weighing more than 5 tons at launch,
this satellite will be launched by an
Ariane 5 into a geostationary transfer
orbit in late 2015 from the Guiana Space
Center, Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou,
French Guiana (South America).
Almost a quarter century since the
launch of JCSAT-1 in 1989, SKY Perfect
JSAT Corporation and Arianespace have
developed a strong relationship of
mutual trust. This new satellite will be
the 28th Japanese satellite launched by
Arianespace.
