  NewSat Appoints Brendan Fleiter as a Non-Executive Director

NewSat Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan Fleiter as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr Fleiter has over 25 years of business experience including Senior Executive roles and Non-Executive Directorships of ASX listed companies, large private and unlisted public companies, large government business enterprises, and not-for-profit and philanthropic organisations in sport, public health and education.

Bringing extensive telecommunications industry experience to NewSat, Mr Fleiter’s previous positions include CEO of the Crazy John’s Group which was acquired by Vodafone Australia in 2008 and as a Non-Executive Director of the ASX listed People Telecom for five years before it was acquired by M2 Telecommunications in 2009. Mr Fleiter practised commercial law for 15 years prior to his senior management and director roles.

Mr Fleiter is currently the Deputy Chairman of Australia Post, Deputy Chair of Methodist Ladies’ College and Chair of its Foundation. He is a Non-Executive Director of Volleyball Victoria, Our Neighbourhood Foundation, The Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation and Royal District Nursing Service. A mentor to several senior executives and a qualified lawyer, Mr Fleiter holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Jurisprudence from Monash University.

Mr Fleiter’s appointment is effective immediately.

In commenting on the appointment of Mr Fleiter as Non-Executive Director, NewSat Chairman, Richard Green said: “We are very pleased to have Brendan join our Board as an independent director. His depth of experience in telecommunications, both as a CEO and as a Director, has substantial application and direct relevance to NewSat’s business and will greatly assist the company in continuing to deliver shareholder value. Brendan’s excellent track record and his wealth of experience across small and large private, public and government enterprises will be of significant consequence to NewSat as we transition into a global satellite operator.”

In commenting on his appointment as Non-Executive Director, Mr Fleiter said: “It gives me great pleasure to join the NewSat team at this pivotal time, as the company becomes a global satellite operator.
