New Speedy Australian National Broadband Network Plans Available Through Activ8me

Australian broadband company Activ8me announces their approval as a retail service provider for NBN Satellite Services.

Activ8me, an Australian broadband company that provides wireless internet plans, National Broadband Network satellite plans and Satellite phone services to Australians in Outback locations is approved as a retail provider for NBN Satellite. This includes NBN Co’s fast new Interim Satellite Services.

Activ8me’s approval for the program was announced on July 15th, 2011. First priority to enter the Interim Satellite Program is currently given to customers who have no alternate access to broadband services. As of November 1, 2011 some existing customers that were connected more than 3 years ago may also be eligible to upgrade to the new NBN Interim Service provided they meet NBN Co’s eligibility requirements. The Interim Satellite Program is designed to provide NBN Satellite Service to the 7% of Australians who will not be served by NBN Co’s standard fibre network that is planned to cover the majority of the Australian population. The Interim Satellite Service Program is designed to run from July 2011 until 2015 when NBN Co. intends to launch two new satellites to provide a long-term service to Australians in remote locations.
