PolarSat Inc. is celebrating over 20 years of its products and services
being at the forefront of providing mission critical satellite communications service to a wide variety of Chinese clients in the public and enterprise sectors. PolarSat’s pioneering approach has
helped provide vital communications infrastructure to a multitude of organizations in varying
industries.
Its first generation of satellite terminals were purchased by the Ministry of Posts and
Telecommunications in 1989 to provide voice and data communications to several Chinese
government agencies. The company has a rich heritage and strong reputation for providing
reliable satellite communications equipment and services. The company has not only built its
reputation on the robust and innovative capability of its technology, but also on its commitment to
providing outstanding local service and customer support.
PolarSat’s systems have been built to deliver tremendous bandwidth savings and flexibility by
basing all its systems on software defined architecture. To date over 600 terminals have been
installed in China. The applications are wide ranging but all share the need for providing reliable
communications. The largest network deployment is the current system for providing backup
communications for rapidly expanding air traffic network, with almost 200 sites geographically
spread throughout every province in China.
“This is an extremely important milestone for PolarSat and one which we are delighted to celebrate
with both our employees and customers, stated Cos Modafferi, CEO and President of PolarSat. Our
customers are at the heart of everything we do and their contribution to our products combined
with the passionate commitment of our employees has helped shape our success over the past 20
years.”
PolarSat continues to innovate and bring new technologies to market such as its 4th generation MFTDMA
satellite modem VSATPlus 3. The VSATPlus 3, first deployed in China
in 2009, is already
being used in a wide variety of applications including oil pipeline control, telemedicine, emergency
tele-health service, and natural resources protection.
The VSATPlus family of terminals provides hubless mesh connectivity that is easy to expand. The
VSATPlus family continues PolarSat’s 25+ years of satellite modem experience to continue to
provide a robust and reliable MF-TDMA, full mesh, hubless product.
