Jet ConneX achieves close to 100 percent uptake with Gulfstream G650 private jet customers

Inmarsat’s next-generation Jet ConneX inflight Wi-Fi service has already been installed on 15 Gulfstream G650 private jets, only a few months after achieving installation approval for the aircraft. More than 50 additional installs are expected on G650s this year alone, highlighting unprecedented demand for Jet ConneX across the world.
Jet ConneX is the only global, high-speed Wi-Fi option available for Gulfstream aircraft today. It offers the same fast and reliable connectivity in the air that has previously only been available on the ground, with private jets connecting to the service using exclusive JetWave hardware produced by Inmarsat partner Honeywell.
Using Inmarsat’s advanced Ka-band satellite network, Jet ConneX offers performance up to 15Mbps and consistent global coverage across 100 percent of major airline routes, providing a differentiator to do business wherever and whenever.
Inmarsat designs, owns and operates its own satellite capacity, ensuring that high quality capacity is added ahead of demand; most recently through the launch of its fourth Ka-band satellite with SpaceX last week.
Kurt Weidemeyer, Inmarsat’s Vice President of Business and General Aviation, said: “Gulfstream customers have been waiting for a Wi-Fi solution that offers consistent, reliable connectivity wherever they fly in the world.
“Their response to Jet ConneX has been amazing. We spent months working closely with Gulfstream and Honeywell, putting Jet ConneX and the JetWave hardware through an extensive In-Service Evaluation testing period to ensure the network and the hardware was up to their high standards. We would also like to thank our In-Service Evaluation operators for participating in the evaluation. It was an excellent team effort.”
