Receives
an
Additional
Order
for
Shipboard
Troposcatter
System

Comtech
Systems,
Inc.,
received
a
follow-on
order
for
the
first
ever
shipboard
troposcatter
system
to
meet
the
U.S.
Military’s
growing
requirement
for
offshore,
beyond
the
horizon
communications
for
ships
underway.
Total
orders
received
for
this
product
during
fiscal
2017
have
aggregated
$1.6
million.
This
shipboard
side
of
the
system
is a
self-contained
terminal
featuring
a
three-axis
stabilized
antenna
in
conjunction
with
Comtech’s
tropo
radio
terminal.
This
maritime
terminal
is
designed
to
be
quickly
deployed
on
and
off
a
variety
of
marine
crafts
to
give
the
military
maximum
mission
flexibility.
The
shore
side
terminal
uses
Comtech
Systems’
proven
Modular
Transportable
Transmission
Tropo
System
(MTTS),
including
its
tracking
Ultra
tropo
antenna
and
its
1 Kw
Solid
State
Amplifiers.
The
system
is
capable
of
providing
voice,
video,
and
data
communications
to
vessels
50+
nautical
miles
off
shore.
This
is a
major
achievement
made
possible
by
Comtech
Systems’
advanced
50
Mb/s
digital
troposcatter
modem.
This
project
for
the
U.S.
Military
builds
on
other
firsts
by
Comtech
which
includes
providing
maritime
troposcatter
systems
to
floating
and
fixed
platforms
in
the
oil
and
gas
industry.
