Globalsat Group obtains license for all Inmarsat services through its Mexican affiliate MultiSAT
Distribución y Tecnologías SA de CV, which operates under the MultiSAT brand and is part of Globalsat Group, announces that it has received official authorization and landing rights for foreign satellite signals in the Ka and L bands.
The Ka band authorization includes Inmarsat I5 satellites, which deliver the new generation Global Express ("GX") service, both for transmission (Earth to satellite) and reception (satellite to Earth), making it possible to legally provide mobile and fixed Internet or point-to-point maritime, land and aeronautical data connectivity anywhere within Mexican territory
Globalsat Group / Multisat has also been authorized for L band services. The Inmarsat Fleet Xpress service combines Ka and L band services, providing greater robustness and redundancy than any other maritime satellite connectivity solution.
Multisat CEO Porfirio Suárez, states that "we will work together to successfully bring GX services and equipment to market, as we have with other Inmarsat services, similarly characterized by high reliability which exceeds 99%, more than most satellite services and therefore especially suited to mission-critical contexts."
According to Globalsat Group CEO Alberto Palacios "as in other countries, our multi-band licensing places us in a privileged position to offer the full range of mobile and fixed services that Inmarsat has to offer in L, Ka and both bands combined. Enabling access in Mexico to Inmarsat's whole infrastructure allows us to have a leading presence in this important market, where the diversity of communications needs combines very well with our broad human capital, which includes experience in all modes of satellite communications, this includes M2M / IoT projects, high-quality fixed and mobile VSAT as well as tactical voice and data through highly portable terminals."
The climatic and seismic conditions of Mexico, the extension of its territory, heterogeneous demographic distribution and the magnitude of economic activity in its territorial seas are characteristics that make satellite an ideal solution for a growing number of public and private institutions which requiere always-on connectivity. Ka and L band satellite service can provide the link when or where traditional infrastructure is unavailable or not feasible.
"Even when markets fluctuate, our clients need mission critical communications. The local experience we have as MultiSAT and the international experience we have as Globalsat Group allow us to offer versatile, scalable and customized solutions which can match to the dynamic markets where our clients operate” adds Suarez.
Inmarsat's satellite constellation is not subject to failures in local nodes and the services it provides operate perfectly even when major natural catastrophes occur.
Palacios also states that "our business partner Inmarsat is very focused on operating under full regulatory compliance in each territory where their satellite infrastructure is used, therefore the multiband licenses that we hold in this and other territories make us a key partner, allowing market access where telecommunications companies based in other countries cannot legally operate directly. "
