Inmarsat
announced
the
operational
availability
of
enhanced
aeronautical
services
in
support
of
critical
U.S.
government
Command,
Control,
Communications,
Computers,
Intelligence,
Surveillance
and
Reconnaissance
(C4ISR)
operations.
In use
today on
multiple
platforms
and
missions,
government
operations
are using
Inmarsat’s
reliable,
worldwide
L-band space
and ground
network
through
micro-antennas
as small as
5 inches at
unmatched
speeds.
Inmarsat’s
partners now
have the
ability to
deliver
record-breaking
data rates
as high as
10Mbps x
10Mbps.
Using
high-order
modulation,
efficiencies
up to 4.5
bits per
hertz are
achieved
allowing
cost-efficient
bandwidth
utilization.
Available
production
terminals
are
ultra-compact
and ideal
for manned
and unmanned
aeronautical
platforms.
Terminal
solutions
leverage
existing
installed
antennas
including
mechanically
steered
antennas as
well as
advanced low
profile,
phased array
antennas.
These
solutions
provide
users
unparalleled
coverage and
performance
for their
aeronautical
connectivity
needs, while
retaining
the ease of
use,
reliability
and low cost
of ownership
provided by
Inmarsat’s
global
network.
“Inmarsat
has been
providing
reliable
mobility
services to
the U.S.
government
for almost
four
decades, and
we recognize
that rapid
and
cost-effective
commercial
innovation
that is
built to
government’s
requirements
optimizes
success for
their
mission.
That is why
we focus
heavily on
the
development
of
innovative
and
dependable
technology
that
maximizes
the use of
what has
already been
proven and,
often,
already
adopted by
Programs of
Record,”
said Peter
Hadinger,
President
U.S.
Government
Business
Unit,
Inmarsat.
“When users
have to
globally
mobilize,
they know
and trust
that their
Inmarsat
satellite
services
will be
right there
with them.”
