and the Carribean
SES S.A. announced today
that Arqiva has
contracted a C-Band
transponder on SES’s
NSS-806 satellite for
the distribution of
premium sports content
across Latin America and
the Caribbean.
The capacity will be
used primarily for
distributing English
premium sports content
in HD to broadcast
networks throughout the
region.
“Elevating the
viewing experience to
new levels is our shared
goal with Arqiva, and we
are very pleased that
Arqiva has placed its
confidence in us for
transmitting HD coverage
of high quality sports
content,” said Ferdinand
Kayser, Chief Commercial
Officer at SES. “With
this new agreement,
Arqiva will be taking
advantage of the
excellent coverage and
technical capabilities
of our NSS-806
satellite.”
“We are pleased to
continue our
relationship with SES
and use their highly
reliable satellites to
deliver quality services
to our customers,” said
David Crawford, Managing
Director for Satellite

degrees West is mainly
used for Latin American
cable broadcasting in
C-Band. The satellite
will be replaced by
SES-14 in 2017, which
will bring augmented
capacity to serve
growing video
neighborhoods in the
Americas.
