ETL partners with Solutions Broadcast RF to deliver
fibre system to major Canadian
broadcast network
26 May 2015
ETL Systems, announced a new partnership with Canadian
company Solutions Broadcast RF (SBRF).
The partnership provides critical on-site support and knowledge in
the Canadian market for ETL’s products. The latest project
undertaken under the rapidly growing partnership was for the largest
public broadcast network in Canada.
Through SBRF, ETL Systems provided the network with an outdoor (ODU)
StingRay RF over fibre chassis to create a reliable signal
transmission system. The network required 47 fibre links to
facilitate communications between its outdoor antenna structures,
located on the roof, and its head end within the building. The ODU
StingRay chassis is the perfect fit for their requirements as it can
operate in the below 0oC Canadian temperatures, while
still minimising signal loss.
“We were excited for the opportunity to deliver a fibre system to
such a major corporation, but harsh conditions presented a unique
challenge when choosing the equipment for the project,” said Johanne
Le Buis is VP & Product Manager, Solutions Broadcast RF. “ETL
Systems’ StingRay provided the ideal solution and we are confident
our new partnership will see similar success in the future.”
The ODU chassis is capable of holding up to 10 fibre modules and can
communicate with a compatible indoor chassis located in the
building. Since StingRay’s launch, ETL Systems has sold over 250
fibre links and now also offers optional redundant systems that will
prevent any unnecessary outages in the signal transmission.
“We are pleased to have been a part of this project which will
provide Canada’s major public broadcast network with a reliable and
top tier fibre system, “ said Susan Saadat, Vice President of ETL’s
North American Sales and Operations. “Our partnership with SBRF will
mean all of our Canadian customers are fully supported.”
