Intelsat Expands Fiber Services across North America with Level 3

Dec. 2, 2014

Level 3 Communications, Inc. announced it is providing Intelsat S.A., a leading provider of satellite services, with network connectivity to its new North America headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia, in addition to other locations throughout the United States. The coast-to-coast services will provide Intelsat with additional network capacity and diverse routing options to enhance the IntelsatOneSM terrestrial fiber and teleport network linked to Intelsat's global satellite infrastructure, improving information access and operational efficiency, while also ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery across its locations.

Intelsat recently moved its North American headquarters from Washington, D.C. to Tysons Corner, resulting in the extension of its network to the new location and connections to existing satellite teleport and data center facilities throughout the United States.

"For more than a decade, Level 3 has delivered the right combination of network infrastructure, services and support to address the complex operating needs of Intelsat's satellite business," said Edward Morche, senior vice president of East Regional Enterprise and Government Markets for Level 3. "Level 3 remains committed to providing the network solutions for Intelsat to continue to grow and meet the mission-critical demands of its business."
