Canadian Army selects Rockwell
Collins satellite communications terminals
May 28, 2014
Rockwell Collins has been selected by the Canadian
Army for its Land Forces Portable Satellite Terminal
program.
The contract calls for Rockwell Collins to provide 30
CCT120s with an option for 20 additional terminals.
“The CCT120 is the quickest-to-air terminal in the world,
giving the Canadian Army access to advanced satellite
technology that can be operated by one person in the field,”
said Lee Obst, managing director for Rockwell Collins in
Canada. “We look forward to providing this vital
communication capability for this program.”
Based on innovative modular architecture, the CCT120
allows easy field operator changes of the antenna system,
transceiver, and a plug-in modem cartridge to fit changing
mission needs. The terminal’s different modules support a
variety of frequency bands, power levels and modem types. It
is certified for use on standard commercial SATCOM networks
as well as the WGS constellation of military satellites and
is provided in airline-checkable rugged transit cases
enabling easy customer transport.
