Globecomm Chooses ETL’s
Vulcan and Victor Matrices
10 March 2014
ETL Systems has been chosen by Globecomm
to provide RF signal distribution systems including ETL’s Vulcan and
Victor matrices.
Globecomm is a leading global provider of managed network
communication solutions. Employing its expertise in emerging
communication technologies, Globecomm offers a comprehensive suite
of system integration, system products and network services,
enabling a complete end-to-end solution for its customers worldwide.
“This new project with Globecomm is another example of our growing
international trade,” said Susan Saadat, Vice President for ETL’s
North American Sales and Operations. “More than 40 percent of our
turnover is coming from US sales, and we are happy to see those
numbers grow. We strive to continue to produce the most resilient RF
distribution products and maintain ourselves as a key player in the
satellite market.”
The ETL Vulcan matrix is extremely compact, offering 128x128 routing
capacity in only 16U rack space. It can be part populated in blocks
of 8 inputs or 8 outputs. The Vulcan is a fully distributive matrix
used widely in Satellite RX applications and incorporates ETL’s
v-series 16x16 matrix cards ensuring excellent RF performance.
Vulcan achieves its
compact form factor by using a ‘three stage’ architecture. There
are; input, output, and mid matrix RF modules – all of these are
hot-swap. This provides extra resilience and the ability to expend
the matrix (hot) in service, by adding input and output cards as the
entire mid matrix cards are supplied in part populated matrices.
