Comtech Awarded $1.2 Million SATCOM Infrastructure Equipment Order to Support Global Network

 Comtech EF Data Corp., received a $1.2 million order for satellite modems and demodulators from a major systems integrator. The infrastructure equipment will be utilized by an international agency to support a global satellite-based network.

The Satellite Modems and the IP Demodulators were ordered, supplementing an installed base of Comtech EF Data equipment previously supplied to this customer. The CDM-570-IPENs are IP-centric satellite modems with data encryption that provide industry-leading performance and flexibility in a 1RU package. With the innovative architecture and support for advanced capabilities, allowing for efficient IP networking and transport over satellite links while supporting a wide range of applications and network topologies.

The IP Demodulators receive four independent 70/140 MHz or L-Band channels and combine the output into a single 10/100Base-T Ethernet port for transmission onto the LAN. The demodulators and the integrated IP Module are housed in a 1RU chassis. The demodulators include optional data encryption, and are designed to operate with Comtech EF Data’s IP-enabled products.
